Racing Laps for Best Friends to Host Two
'PetStops' in Florida;
Events to be Held March 27 in Miami And April 3
in Largo, FL

VEGAS, March 20 - Andrew Prendeville, driver of
the Best Friends Animal Society No. 5 Indy Pro
Series car, will host two free "PetStops" while
he's racing in Florida in the next few weeks as
part of his innovative "Racing Laps for Best
Friends" program.
Centered around a website at
racinglapsforbestfriends.com, the program
increases exposure and raises funds for the Best
Friends Animal Society, an international,
not-for-profit animal welfare organization, and
its mission of "no more homeless pets."
Prendeville's first three races of the year are
at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Fla.
on Saturday, March 29, and a doubleheader at the
St. Petersburg Grand Prix in St. Petersburg,
Fla. on Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6.
Prior to the Homestead race, fans are invited to
meet Prendeville and see his Best Friends Animal
Society No. 5 Indy Pro Series race car at the
first "PetStop" ever on Thursday, March 27 from
4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Miami Dade Animal Services,
7401 NW 74 St. in Miami. Prendeville will be on
hand to meet fans and show them his car. A
rabies clinic will be conducted, and shelter
tours are planned. Adoptions will also be
available; standard requirements and fees apply.
The following week, another "PetStop" event will
be held on Thursday, April 3 from 5 p.m. to 7
p.m. at the SPCA Tampa Bay, 9099 130th Ave. N.
in Largo, Fla.
All "PetStop" appearances are free and the
public is encouraged to attend.
"The main purpose of the PetStops will be to
encourage adoptions and volunteerism at local
shelters, to help people become more aware of
the work of their local shelters and Best
Friends, to provide exposure to the Racing Laps
for Best Friends program, and to promote the
IndyCar and Indy Pro Series races," Prendeville
said.

website. Information on a special raffle that
benefits Best Friends is also available there.
The prizes are sessions at the Bertil Roos
Racing School.
